Bountiful harvest, every week (Mar 24, 2006, 09:15am) At the beginning of our tour of the island, we stopped at the local market in Roseau. The market is packed with harvest, since it is all grown on the island, year round.

Houses in Bellevue Chopin (Mar 24, 2006, 10:06am) The first town we reached after leaving Roseau is Bellevue Chopin, which is halfway between Roseau and Dubec (on the southern coast).

Roseau from Bellevue Chopin (Mar 24, 2006, 10:08am) The city in the distance is Roseau, seen from Bellevue Chopin, a small town halfway between Roseau and Dubec on the southern coast. If you look closely, you should be able to see a cruise ship docked in town.

Blue banana bag plantation (Mar 24, 2006, 10:30am) On Dominica, just like on St. Vincent, they grow bananas inside blue bags to make sure the bananas are perfect for the European market..

Alternate form of transportation (Mar 24, 2006, 10:36am) During our car tour, somewhere in the Southwest corner of Dominica, I spied this person, going up the hill.

Church grounds in Southeast Dominica (Mar 24, 2006, 10:42am) We visited the outside of a church in Southwestern Dominica. This is a picture of the graveyard and tower behind the Catholic Church of St Gerard in Bellevue Chopin (thanks to David Michael for the identification).

Mountains behind banana fields (Mar 24, 2006, 10:45am) If you look closely at this picture, you should be able to see the blue bags that indicate that this is a banana field.
