Dominica - March 25

Second building at Cocoa Cottages (Mar 25, 2006, 06:45am) The Cocoa Cottages consist of two buildings. The main building includes four guest rooms (including the room we used) and the common rooms. This is a picture of the second building, which has two guest rooms.

Banana Quit on poinsetta (Mar 25, 2006, 09:14am) There was a poinsetta tree right outside the balcony of our room. In the mornings, I would set on the balcony with my camera and catch pictures of birds that visited the poinsetta tree.

Trafalgar Falls in distance (Mar 25, 2006, 01:10pm) In the afternoon, we hiked up to road to Trafalgar. Here is a vista that shows Tragalgar Falls in the distance. (There are some pictures of the falls in the first Dominica gallery.)

Steam rising from a hole in ground (Mar 25, 2006, 01:39pm) Although there is no active volcano on Dominica, there is a lot of underground activity. For example, there is the boiling lake (see the second gallery), Champagne Reef (see the first gallery) and lots of hot springs. There are also places, like this picture, where steam just rises from the ground.

Hummingbird in a tree (Mar 25, 2006, 01:55pm) This humming bird was in the tree outside of Jeffrey's house. The bird never sat still enough for me to get a closer picture.

Jeffrey's boa constrictor (Mar 25, 2006, 02:00pm) Jeffrey found a boa constrictor and is keeping it in his basement. He brought it out for pictures.
