Unlike the red-footed booby, a nazca booby does not stand on branches. We had to photograph this one and zoom in to verify that we had not seen a behavioral anomaly. If you look closely, however, you can see that this booby is actually standing on a rock. Photographed on Darwin Beach on Genovesa Island in the Galapagos.
True to its name, while all the surrounding birds were just sitting there, this roddy turnstone was walking down the path, flipping over every small pebble it came across. Photographed on Darwin Beach on Genovesa Island in the Galapagos.
