This red-billed tropicbird was spotted in the eastern cliffs of Darwin Bar of Genovesa Island in the Galapagos. Our guide says that it is unusual to see the front of this bird when it is perched on a cliff since it usually stands head-in to the rock face. Please excuse the quality of the picture. The light level was low and I was kneeling in a Panga Boat that was bouncing in the waves.
Photographed in the eastern cliffs of Darwin Bar of Genovesa Island in the Galapagos from a moving Panga boat.
It rained during our hike on the eastern side of Genovesa Island (after climbing Prince Phillip’s Steps). But this short-eared owl was begging to be photographed, so with one person holding up an umbrella, I took my camera out of its ziplock bag and took this shot. If you look closely you can see the rain drops against the background.
