Northern side of La Soufriere crater (Jul 17, 2004, 12:23pm) And finally, after just under two hours of hiking, we reach the lip of the crater. As you can see in this photo and the next few, it was very foggy on top of La Soufriere, so visibility was limited. I kept two photographs showing the crater. From our vantage point on the crater lip, this is the view to the right (north?) side and the next picture is the view to the left.
