On our third full day on St. Vincent, we went on a trip to hike La Soufriere, the volcano of St. Vincent. The trailhead is a two hour drive up the windward coast (Atlantic side), past Georgetown. The next few pictures were taken during that drive north, when the car would stop at those particularly photogenic locations.

Notice that the beaches of St. Vincent are characterized by black volcanic sand. Also notice the heavy surf on the windward side. (Petit Byahaut is on the leaward side and has no surf to speak of.)
