Where you wait if you can't handle the hike (Jul 17, 2004, 11:06am) Half an hour into the hike we crossed a dry creek bed to see this shelter off to the side. Our guide said that when one or more people feel that they can not make the climb (after having gotten this far), they can wait in the shelter (foir a few hours) for the rest of their group to return. As it happened, our group was very small -- just Daphne, me and the guide -- and we didn't feel that we needed it.
