Our guide points out the one active vent (Jul 17, 2004, 12:22pm) The volcano is active, having last erupted in 1979. But, we were not worried about another eruption on our hike; we were more worried about getting rained on. Here you can see our guide pointing out a steaming vent, the only currently visible sign of volcanic activity on La Soufriere.
