The stairway from the beach to the dining area (Jul 26, 2004, 01:37pm) Another picture of the stairway from Atlantic Beach to Telescope Hill, this one shows the middle section of the stairs.
Row of beach umbrellas on Atlantic Beach (Jul 25, 2004, 10:30am) Late morning on July 25th and we head over to the east side, specifically Atlantic Beach to do our daily snorkeling. Before getting in the water, I took this one picture of the beach umbrellas along Atlantic Beach. Notice that the beach is very different from the West End Beach. There are no beach huts, only umbrellas, and none of the privacy that was a feature of the west end. Yet, even with 10 cottages along the length of Atlantic Beach, there was not a single person in sight. (I think that the West End Beach tends to be much more popular.)
Common sea fan cluster (Jul 25, 2004, 10:44am) The waters off of Atlantic Beach were very different than those off of West End Beach. For one thing, there was no algae infestation. The coral was divided into large collections, separated by white sand. Unlike any other place we snorkeled, the ocean of Atlantic Beach was filled with soft corals, like the sea fans seen in this picture. The next block of pictures are all from our snorkeling trip to Atlantic Beach.
