Approaching Petit Bateau in Tobago Cays (Jul 21, 2004, 02:55pm) Only a half an hour after leaving Saline Bay, we arrive at the outskirts of the Tobago Cays. The Tobago Cays are a group of five, small, unpopulated islands two miles west of Mayreau. Although the islands are technically unpopulated, the area of the Tobago Cays is alive with dozens of sailboats and hundreds of boaters, tourists and fisherman. The main attraction of the Tobago Cays are the reefs. Horseshoe reef is just east of the main cluster of four islands in water only eight feet deep and full of coral heads and sea creatures. In this picture, you can see the leeward side of the west most island, Petit Bateau.
